This 3-days a week peaking program is designed for any veteran masters weightlifter.
Utilizing a subtle progressive overload, over the course of six weeks including a deload week prior to competition, this program will get a weightlifter competition-ready while mitigating the risk of overuse injury.
This program requires a pre-established 1-Repetition Maximum (1-RM) as the standard for intensity for training. The start of this program requires a physical readiness where training intensities are multiple sets and repetitions that exceed 85% 1-RM. The program ends with a 1-RM test prior to the competition date. To build physical readiness, 4-6 week pre-competition cycle is HIGHLY recommended prior to training using this peaking cycle.
